QUESTION:
Do CFX appliances come prepainted? Can I order them prepainted?
ANSWER:
No, CFX appliances come bare and unpainted. We don't sell them prepainted because of cost limitations and the nature of custom prosthetic application. It is always best to paint your own appliance for easier blending and color control. For best results, we recommend using our APAX airbrush appliance paints on your foam appliance. If you still want your appliance prepainted, Contact Us for information on custom prepainting (at extra cost, of course).
QUESTION:
Can I reuse a foam latex appliance?
ANSWER:
Yes. As for how many applications, that depends on many factors, mainly: climate (how much you sweat in it), the type of adhesive you use, the type of remover you use. To give you a general idea of life expectancy of your appliance, the CFX crew often apply prosthetics to actors in South Louisiana, which averages around 80° in October with high humidity. This means that the actors sweat a lot and that they have to use a very strong adhesive. Under these conditions we get an average of 3 uses from one appliance (5 if we're lucky).
